When developing a collection with a "British" theme, one thing that cannot be avoided is the "tradition of sock manufacturing."
The tradition of sock manufacturing began with a British priest, and Britain and socks have an inseparable history.
This time, the socks are a collaboration with Corgi *, a knitwear manufacturer with over 130 years of history, and incorporate the `` Made in the UK '' techniques of traditional British knitting machines, processes, and finishing methods, which are very different from Asian socks in every way, while also featuring HOiSUM 's signature colorful coloring.
This product uses mercerized cotton on the outer side.
In addition to the high-quality surface texture unique to the material, we used backing yarn, just like modern socks.
The backing thread is made of nylon, which makes the shoe fit your foot better and increases its strength.
This is an elegant pair of shoes, with a dress design that is rare for Corgi.
* What is Corgi ?
Corgi Hosiery is a knitwear manufacturer founded in South Wales, UK in 1893 .
The machines used in manufacturing include rare hand knitting machines that are over 120 years old, and many old machines are still in operation. There are living traditions that want to be passed on to future generations, such as the traditional hand-knitting of the toes. Although the brand is now a supplier to the royal family and has become a global brand, it first gained recognition for the argyle socks it manufactured for Brooks Brothers. The brand started with the desire to provide warm long socks for coal miners in Wales, and has grown into a global knitwear brand that undertakes the manufacture of knitwear for well-known luxury brands such as Thom Browne and Ralph Lauren's Purple Label.
