Team Series Design Background and Attention to Detail
The Team Series socks, released in spring 2024, are special items created in honor of the Paris Olympics to be held this July.
Let me give you a little background on the creation of Team H and Team of Racing .
The beginning of production
Each season, HOiSUM sets a theme and creates designs.
The Spring/Summer 2024 collection will be based on the theme of "PARIS," which continues from the Fall/Winter 2023 collection.
The theme for Fall/Winter 2023 was Simone de Beauvoir, the feminist activist who lived during the Roaring Twenties.
The collection incorporates her strong message into the designs and aims to raise awareness of women's issues. The specific product name is WOMAN EQUIPMENT .
The Paris Olympics, which inspired the production of the Team series, will be held in the summer of 2024.
The Olympic Games were created by French educator Baron Pierre de Coubertin at the first Athens Games in 1896.
Coubertin set the purpose of the Olympics as "to contribute to the realization of a peaceful world through sports," and it is known that his theme was the beginning of a "festival of peace."
The idea for creating the Team series came from the desire to create socks related to the Olympics, following on from the Paris-themed collection that has been ongoing since 2023.
Design Background
The theme is sports and I was inspired by the uniforms of old racing teams.
We have set up a fictional racing team, with the riders climbing harsh mountain paths... we imagined a race like that and designed it.
If you look closely, you can see that the Team of Racing design features mountain patterns and checkered flag (※) motifs.
Our goal in creating this design was to create something vibrant and visually striking.
* Used in motorsports to signal the end of a race. A design of alternating black and white squares.
Team H's socks are based on a fictional team, with the word "JAPAN" placed on the soles to represent Japan.
Designs that use multiple colors require the same number of threads to be set into the machine as there are colors, making it difficult to realize them from a design drawing.
As a result, we spent a tremendous amount of time on the color scheme, and this was the most difficult part.
I created the color scheme while taking into consideration the actual coordination, whether it was the intended color scheme for the design and whether it was in line with the theme.
We put a lot of care into the pattern placement and color scheme, so we hope you can feel that care, even just a little, when you put the socks on.

The base of these two products is skater socks. The soles have a pile finish, so they can be worn with any active outfit, including sportswear and vintage clothing.
